MIX CROPPING CULTURE (AGROFORESTRY)
Year 0
Planting cinnamon, fruit trees such as durian and avocado. Cinnamon planting distance set at 5x5 meter to have space to plant other crops. Vegetables, banana, coffee, orange are planting in between cinnamon.
Year 1
Surian/Sembulun planted in the border or inside the land as conservation tree. Gamal (Gliricidia) planted as terrace in sloping land as source of organic material and nitrogen input to soil.
Year 2
Vegetables harvest within 2 - 3 years.
Year 3
Vegetables are not growing anymore. Coffee, oranges, fruit trees and cinnamon growing up.
Year 4
Coffee, oranges can harvest within 5 years, 2 x per year.
Year 5
Fruit trees start producing fruits.
Year 6
Coffee, oranges less produce or not productive anymore.
Year 7
Fruit trees produce fruits.
Year 8
Farmers start to harvest cinnamon by doing selective harvest from 7 till 25 years or more. Fruit trees produce fruits. Some harvested cinnamon can sprout again with low survival rate. To keep cinnamon plantation, Tripper support with seedling for replantation.
